24 Setember 2026 (iklik,info) – “Smile Beyond Borders” is the motto and advocacy initiative carried by Miss Global Timor-Leste, Dr. Celia Bosco. She will represent Timor-Leste at the Miss Global international pageant in Bangkok, Thailand.
Celia has demonstrated determination and intelligence as she prepares to take part in the international competition. She has expressed her dreams and hopes of representing Timor-Leste to the best of her ability.
Celia Bosco is a dentist, entrepreneur, model, lecturer, fitness and wellness coach, and traveler. She is passionate about inspiring others through advocacy in health, self-confidence, and positive change.
Speaking to Iklik Investigative, Celia said that she wants to promote Timor-Leste’s tourism potential while advocating for women’s empowerment. For her, mental and physical preparation are essential before competing at the international level.
“I will give my best performance and prepare myself for this competition, both mentally and physically,” she said.
Her participation in the pageant began with a childhood dream. After completing her dental studies, she once again asked herself which childhood dream she wanted to pursue.
“Since I was a child, I dreamed of competing in a beauty pageant. After completing my dental studies, I asked myself: What other childhood dream do I want to achieve?” she said.
She admitted that she had never previously had the opportunity to participate in a beauty pageant. However, one day she applied spontaneously. She never expected that decision to lead her to an international stage.
“I admired the women who competed in beauty pageants. They were my inspiration and role models. When I was younger, I wanted to grow up and become like them,” she said.
Promoting Timor-Leste at Miss Global
Through the pageant, Celia also hopes to introduce Timor-Leste to the world. According to her, Timor-Leste has many beautiful tourist destinations, ranging from beaches and mountains to its rich cultural heritage.
“Timor-Leste is very beautiful. We have many interesting places to visit, especially in the tourism sector. I want the world to learn about our country, and I invite people to visit our beaches and mountains and experience Timor-Leste’s culture,” she said.
Facing Challenges at Miss Global
Participating in Miss Global is a major challenge, particularly because this is the first time Timor-Leste has been represented in the pageant. For Celia, it is also her first experience competing in an international beauty pageant.
“This is the first time Timor-Leste has been represented in an event like this, and it is also my first international competition. I will do my best to represent Timor-Leste with pride,” Celia said.

She recognizes that challenges and criticism from the public are part of the process. Therefore, she tries to accept constructive criticism and use it as a learning experience.
Creating Opportunities for Young Women
In addition to competing, Celia is also carrying out an advocacy initiative called “Smile Beyond Borders.” The initiative focuses on creating opportunities for Timor-Leste’s younger generation, particularly women and girls, to pursue their dreams with confidence.
She wants children who dream of competing in beauty pageants to have the space and opportunity to make those dreams a reality.
“When I was a young girl, I also dreamed of competing in a beauty pageant. Therefore, I want to create opportunities for children, especially girls, who have similar dreams, so they can have a platform to achieve their goals,” she explained.

She also wants to be a voice for women, particularly those living in rural areas who have remained largely unseen and unheard internationally.
“I want to be a voice for women, especially those in rural areas, so that those who have been unseen and unheard can gain international recognition,” she said.
As a dentist, Celia also plans to connect her advocacy with oral health issues. Through Miss Global, she hopes to share messages about women’s empowerment, education, and the importance of health with a wider audience.
